You can change your life in a day!
That's a bold statement I know, but it's simple...
To truly change something within you,
there are 2 ways: desperation or Inspiration.
Think for 5 seconds, in which mode you are?
Let's move to the 23 ways you can use starting today!
1. Do Uncomfortably Scary Things!
Stepping out of your comfort zone can really do wonders
for you long-term.
Public speaking is one of the scariest things anyone can do.
Researchers conducted experiments and determined that
many people experienced and related public speaking with
the same feelings & emotions as death!
(we're weird creatures 😀 )
I remember the first time I was giving a public presentation
for the company I've worked, (direct-selling health products)
and my first speech was terrible...
I was speaking too fast, I felt there's something in my throat,
I was overwhelmed, couldn't breathe normally
and sweated like I was on some beach in Hawai.
But I did it and after around 5 presentations, all those
scary thoughts and emotions my mind was producing,
The point is the more you do uncomfortable things,
the less scared you'll feel after some practice.
What is something that you want/need to do,
but deeply scares you?
2. Keep a Journal & Document
Wayne Dyer was a smart man!
Here's a paragraph of his book 101 ways to transform your life:
"In your journal describe what offends you about other people.
If you can be objective, you will find that what offends you is a judgment about how others should behave.
These judgments are that false idea of yourself, convincing you that the world ought to be as you are, rather than it is."
Your journal will be a place where you can counter attack your negative thoughts, see the goals you achieved 3 years ago, and
the best part is that you're documenting your journey!
Years from now your children and grandkids can see and
learn from your journey and mistakes, as well from the
lessons you've learned in life.
When I first read in a book about this concept, it seemed
like a great idea, so starting from 15.10.2016, I document
my journey every day.
3. Solitude to Tune Yourself
(what does solitude mean)
Time alone will boost your creativity and self-knowledge.
Modern society puts pressure on us to stay socially active or
to be focused on work leading to less time for ourselves.
Famous author Henry David Thoreau spent over two years
alone in the woods of Walden Pond rediscovering himself.
This time allowed him to assess his own values and
those of the society around him.
All of this led to Thoreau publishing his groundbreaking book Walden in 1854.
When you’re completely alone, and you focus your attention on the natural environment around you, you’ll start to feel united with nature.
This connection with nature is a beautiful and
even mystical experience.
Throughout history, people (monks, knights, kings) were practicing solitude before some important event.
This period was meant to prepare them for the next chapter
of their lives.
4. Let Go of The Past
Learn to forgive yourself first, and then forgive others.
If you're more of a selfish type like I was before, understand that
it's in your advantage to clear your mind, forgive and move on.
Focus on the present, and create your future while being present!
Do you know what is the best thing about the past?
That it's over, it doesn't exist anymore...
It can only exist if you keep the pictures in your mind,
but in reality, it doesn't exist anymore.
The best thing about the past is that it's over.
The best thing about the future is that it's yet to come, and the best thing about the present is that it's here now.
5. Make a Mistake... but
Never Repeat a Mistake
Fail and make as many mistakes as you can, even
on purpose sometimes...
I know that sounds weird, but the key here is to never repeat
the same mistake twice.
By failing and making mistakes you experience something new,
grow from that mistake and learn as you continue
in your journey in life.
The trap is that many people are scared to fail, leading to a
fixed mindset (if I don't know how to do this, there's no point in trying) and frustrating life overall.
“I have failed over and over and over again in my life and
that is why I succeed.” – Michael Jordan
6. Direct Your Life & Be the Hero
In Your Movie
If your life was a movie, you were the hero in the movie,
and it started now how would you direct it?
Forget about whatever financial disasters you've had,
personal failures or relationship failures.
We define ourselves far too often by our past failures
we look at our past and feel down...
That's not you!
You're the person who's learned from those failures and
you can choose to be the hero of your own movie right now!
Write down things you want to improve, write down things you won't tolerate from yourself, write down things you've done in the past that you never want to see yourself do again and

7. Delay of Gratification
Maybe you've seen the experiment with the kids and the marshmallows.
The kids who immediately grab the cookie vs the kids who waited
an hour promised they will be rewarded with one more marshmallow.
The kids who were willing to wait more and delay gratification,
years later were much more successful in every area of life.
(Write "The Marshmallow Test" in Youtube to see the experiment)
Delaying gratification can change your life!
- Postpone and control your anger and avoid shouting
on your children or spouse, you reap the harvest
of strong relationships for life.
- Postpone your gratification to enjoy a little more sleep in
the morning, you can do walking and work-out and
make your body and mind healthier.
- When you delay the temptation of eating the tasty and starchy food you gain tremendously by having good health
8. Be Non Reactive
When you see or hear something that immediately enrages or upsets you (even if it's just a negative thought that crops up in your head) before reacting to it and pouring your energy
into it, question it!
Figure out where it came from, and ask yourself whom your reaction to it would serve.
Learning to take that micro-pause between a stimulus and your response will change your life and the way you look at everything.
9. Be a Good Listener
Remember, everybody's favorite subject is himself!
Spend more time listening than talking.
Always ask questions from the story someone is talking about.
This will tell that person how you are giving a value to his subject.
And people tend to respect those who speak less.
Make sure to cut people when they start gossip talks, or redirect
the conversation in another way, by asking questions.
Listen more than you talk.
Nobody learned anything by hearing themselves speak!
10. Invest In Yourself
Start by Sharpening your axe.
Read just one chapter of an information-rich,
inspiring book every day.
Listen to 10 minutes of a life-transforming audio.
Take a course or seminar every few weeks.
Are these things easy to do? Sure...
They're also easy not-to-do...
And those simple disciplines compounded over time,
can really shift and change your life in another direction.
And if you don’t do them today, right now, will your life be destroyed? Of course not.
But that simple error in judgment, compounded over time,
will pull you down the curve of failure and take away everything
you’ve hoped for and dreamed about.

11. Self Awareness Importance
Excerpt from Mark Manson's blog:
Simple question: do you really know who you are?
I mean do you know what drives you, what terrifies you,
why you do the things you do, and do you know
how others perceive you too?
Self-awareness is, somewhat paradoxically, in short supply
these days (self-delusion, on the other hand, is not).
But there’s no way to change your life if you don’t know what
you’re changing about yourself in the first place.
Read my previous article on Self Awareness & how to unlock yours!
12. Examine The Impossible
Close your eyes and do a self-examination and think about everything you have been told that is impossible or unrealistic!
Dive deep here and allow yourself to uncover your doubts and beliefs.
Release everything that you hate and just notice how you'll feel
for a moment.
What if 30% of your doubts are actually doable?
Ask yourself series of questions starting with "what if", and
be amazed by the answers your mind will give it to you.
Practice this over time, make your mind an ally and
change your life!
13. Positive Affirmations for Success
You don't have to be religious, spiritual to know the reason
why positive affirmations work!
They're proven by so many people to work in their advantage,
and also backed by science.
Affirmation starts when you state your goal as if it has
already been realized, in a complete sentence.
The most effective affirmations are in the first person,
are positive and to the point.
Our subconscious mind is most receptive to these affirmations
in the morning once we open our eyes in the first 5 minutes,
and before we're going to sleep in the night!
(when you're in that sleepy phase)
Here are some examples I personally use:
- My body is a temple. I will keep my temple clean!
- The tools I need to succeed are in my possession!
- Day by day, in every way I'm getting better and better!
14. Smiling and Well-Meaning People Have Nothing to Lose
I consider this a skill that one must develop through practice,
and a way to change your life for the better!
Watch comedy, hang out with uplifting people, wish to others
what you wish to yourself, do good for others and don't look
for reasons and expect that others must reciprocate your kindness.
Doing this over time will create a positive self-image in yourself,
and you'll enhance and better your relationships.
15. Sale Skills
How knowing about sales can change your life?
Whenever you want something from someone, you are doing sales.
In an interview, you are selling yourself as a better candidate.
In a marriage proposal, you are selling yourself as a better husband or wife.
Sales are tough, it requires a combination of many skills; communication skills, writing skills, people skills.
Sales is a life-saving skill just like swimming.
You can learn those skills from one of the masters
like Brian Tracy, or you can read 3-5 books in 2 months
to acquire basic knowledge.
16. Eat Well 101 & Be Wise About Food!
Stop eating all the food you see from the commercials or on TV.
Don't drink milk, drink yogurt instead.
I was making a mistake in the past 15 months, and thought
that making & drinking a fruit bullet or eating cereals,
first thing in the morning was healthy and good for my body.
It turned out it wasn't!
My blood pressure was up right from the morning and after 1 hour
I was flat down on energy and performance.
Instead in my case, it's better if I start the day
with vegetables, proteins, and tea.
Later in the day before I work-out or run it's good to drink
my fruit bullet. (burn more carbohydrates in that period)
But that's why you got to be wise with your food and it can
radically change your life for the better, have more energy,
and avoid mood swings.
Remember what's good in my case, might not be a good choice
for you; that's why you got to experiment and know your body!
But on the other hand, I stand strong that you don't need carbohydrates and sugar first thing in the morning!
17. Automate Your Life
We all do tons of things on autopilot daily.
You know what I'm talking about here...
We have behavior patterns and memorized things we do
The good news is that you can change your life,
simply by reprogramming a few of the patterns.
(reprogramming works better if you're in desperation mode)
Start by going to bed at the same reasonable time in the night,
and wake up early 2-3 hours before everyone in your place.
(Take advantage of your 1st hour once you wake up)
Don't eat whenever you like and treat your body like a trash can, instead eat at the same time every day!
Find that 10 minutes to meditate or just close your eyes & sit still, every day at the same time!
Do some other repetitions of the things you like to introduce
in your life, and feel the difference after 3-4 days.
18. Eat The Frog First
Yes eat the frog, when you're afraid of doing something.
Any task, exam or obligation you have.
Do the hardest part first!
If you're preparing for something, let's say a project in your job;
do the hardest stuff first.
Then the rest will be easy.
Usually we tend to do the other way around...
The easiest things first, and then we lack the energy and motivation when more complicated goals come our way.
19. Meditate Daily
(Your Brain Will Reward You For It)
I love Henri's words from wakeupcloud:
"Meditation has taught me to see through the dance of thought.
I have thoughts...I have worries, and I have fears.
But I can observe them without getting involved.
What’s important is not to just know it intellectually,
but to see how you create your experience of life."
You've seen, read and already know how powerful meditation
can be, and if you're not using this to your advantage right now,

20. Change Your Thinking
Our actions follow our thoughts, and if you keep thinking in the same old ways, your actions won’t change much.
Our action and our energy follow our focus.
You've heard the saying "energy flows where focus goes"
If you focus on what is working, what is good about you,
about any situation, and any person, that is what you will notice, and it changes your state.
If your learn to prime yourself and your state, you can change
People who have done muscle testing after listening to uplifting messages tested stronger than those who listen to depressing messages.
21. Develop Critical Thinking Skills
Critical thinking is the opposite of usual, everyday thinking.
Moment to moment, most of our thinking happens automatically.
This is why many times we're feeling overwhelmed by
our feelings & thoughts.
Great critical thinkers can draw reasonable conclusions from different pieces of information and distinguish between useful and less useful aspects to solve a problem or make a decision.

22. Learn About The Brain
(Use It Strategically)

23. Read a Lot
Make books your best companions and read a lot.
Read on improvement blogs like you're doing now,
go on Quora, Reddit, and other informative websites.
Read self-help books and autobiographies.
See and learn what challenges people have in their lives and
how they solved them, one day you might have the same challenges!
This is the habit which gives you the knowledge and
becomes your companion in tough times.
